Introducing the Free plan for Strapi Cloud

May 13, 2025Updated on May 22, 2026
Free Cloud Plan

Since day one, we've worked to keep Strapi open and accessible for everyone while building a sustainable business.

Today, we are making that vision a reality.

You can now deploy any Strapi project for free on Strapi Cloud.

Whether you are launching a side project, building an MVP, or just trying things out, our new Free Plan gives you instant access to production-grade infrastructure with no upfront cost and no credit card required.

Free plan, real projects

This is not a trial. It is a new way to build with Strapi Cloud, permanently.

The Free Plan is designed for solo developers, larger companies, and anyone experimenting with ideas.

You will get the same core infrastructure our paying customers rely on: Postgres database, built-in CDN, Git-based deploys, and more. No setup needed.

Launch in minutes

Gone are the days of configuring servers just to test your backend.

With the Free Plan, you can:

⬥ Connect your GitHub repo (personal) ⬥ Choose your region ⬥ Go live in under 3 minutes

All backed by the same infrastructure we have continuously improved to shorten the path from local development to live production.

Generous limits, clear boundaries

Usage Dashboard.png

We want you to explore the platform so we've included generous limits in the Free Plan:

⬥ 2,500 API requests per month ⬥ 10 GB storage and 10 GB bandwidth per month ⬥ 1 Production environment with automatic cold start ⬥ 500 database entries ⬥ 100 emails per month

Projects on the free plan scale down after a few minutes of inactivity and automatically spin back up when receiving a new request. There are no overages. If you hit the limits, your app stops running until the next month’s allowance kicks in. That way, you know when it is time to grow.

Built to grow with you

Plans Overview.png

When your project takes off, Strapi Cloud grows with you.

Upgrading is seamless. You do not need to migrate, reconfigure, or move your stack. You will unlock:

  • More storage, bandwidth, and API usage
  • Additional environments and backups
  • Custom domains and organization repository

Scaling up or down will always be straightforward.

New pricing overview

Here is the updated Strapi Cloud pricing:

PlanYearly PriceDesigned For
Free$0Hobby projects, MVPs, evaluations
Essential$15Growing projects with higher usage needs
Pro$75Teams ready for scale and multi-environment
Scale$375High-traffic apps, agencies, and large teams

Start free. Build fast. Launch confidently.

We rebuilt our infrastructure and simplified our pricing to make it easier than ever to start.

Now, with the Free Plan, you can bring your Strapi project to life without any barriers.

Next, we’ll focus on adding value to our paid tiers by introducing more collaborative capabilities and simplifying data management.

We cannot wait to see what you build.
