The last month of August was a busy one. We are excited to introduce six new and improved features that will enhance your experience using Strapi.
First off, we’ve released Strapi v4.13! This version includes some cool improvements that will help marketers and developers build better digital experiences alike.
Next, we are eager to see better collaboration, compliance, and performance with our new features for Strapi Cloud.
And there is so much more. Read on to learn about the latest Strapi CMS and Strapi Cloud product updates.
Yes, Strapi v4.13 is a minor version - but it includes major improvements. With assignees for review workflows, new list view filters, additional TypeScript support and many more improvements, Strapi v4.13 comes jam-packed with new features and a number of useful improvements.
You can now assign specific team members to review and approve changes made to your content. Give review stages a clear owner, so everyone knows who’s responsible — from the first draft all the way to publication. This will help streamline the review process and ensure that your content is published quickly.
In the content manager view, you can now also filter on assignees and review stages. This will help you to stay aligned and collaborate better with Review Workflows. A convenient way to coordinate work seamlessly across teams — available as part of the Enterprise Edition and Strapi Cloud Team and Custom plans.
We’ve introduced Review Workflows as part of Strapi v4.11. And we’re continuously improving its functionality based on your feedback. There are more improvements to the features on the horizon, here is a quick sneak peek: Next up, we’ll introduce Role-Base Access Control for individual stages — to give you full control at every level! With this feature, you can go a step further and easily tailor permissions to the specific roles of your team members at each review stage, giving them precisely the level of access they require at every stage of the workflow.
We are excited to introduce an improvement to List View Filters. With this new feature, you will have more control over how you view your content. By using List View Filters, you can sort and filter your content based on a variety of parameters, including CreatedBy and UpdatedBy. This will allow you to quickly and easily find the content you need, without having to sift through irrelevant items. We believe this feature will greatly improve your experience and make Strapi even more useful for content creators and managers alike.
The typings continue 🎉 We have included additional TypeScript support, which will enable you to write more robust and reliable code. This will be particularly useful for developers who are working on large-scale projects and require a high degree of accuracy and precision.
Type checking now works for Core Factories and the Entity Service API to allow for easier backend customization.
And we won’t stop here. Going forward, most minor releases will include additional improvements to the TypeScript support.
At Strapi, creators and agencies are the backbone of the Strapi community and we’re always on a mission to make it easier for creators and agencies to launch incredible sites and apps quickly and easily.
We’re excited to announce three new features for Strapi Cloud. Even better, Strapi Cloud is live, and you can sign up for free and get started today!
Let’s take a closer look at what you can expect.
Now, you can host your project, data, and assets in Europe (Amsterdam). Up until now, all of our infrastructure has been hosted in the United States (New York City), and now you will be able to choose your database location based on your preferences. Simply choose the region that best suits you. Enjoy a better performance by hosting your data and assets closest to you and your customers.
We understand how crucial it is for you to be GDPR compliant, and that’s why we are offering this new capability to serve you better. Never worry about compliance issues due to transferring customer data to other countries.
We're committed to rolling out more regions in the near future without compromising the security and stability of our platform. Strapi Cloud supports datacenters in the US and Europe with the possibility to request a new region you might need. Just choose your preferred region during set up.
We’re excited to announce that you can now streamline teamwork with the Shared Projects feature that makes it easy to work together on any Strapi Cloud project — a game-changer for agencies and companies running multiple projects. You can now manage multiple projects from one account. The share button provides an easy way to invite maintainers to your project, allowing multiple developers to collaborate seamlessly on the same project. Maintainers of a Strapi Cloud project get access to the dashboard and can:
You can now change the deployed project’s base directory and branch so that you can easily manage your project. Whether you need to switch repositories because you’re working on a new POC or if you just want to switch to a different branch, you can do all of this right in the Cloud settings.
All right! That’s it for the latest updates and features! I hope you are as excited as we are about the new headless CMS and Cloud releases. Looking forward to your feedback!
We believe that these enhancements will help you to achieve your goals more easily and effectively, and we look forward to seeing how you will use these new features to further your projects and your business.
We’re always building products and features that improve your experience and we have some awesome new functionality on the way that we can't wait to share – stay tuned for more news and updates!
