- Content Managers Productivity: Live Previews, Responsive Admin panel, and new Homepage widgets!
- Cloud Platform Improvements: Self-service project transfers, downloadable backups, and proactive usage alerts.
Introducing Strapi AI: The Foundation of Our AI-Powered Automations
Strapi AI, now generally available, is not just another feature; it is the foundational service that will power all future AI automations inside Strapi.
We are starting with the Content Type Builder and Media Library, where Strapi AI already transforms hours of manual setup and metadata work into minutes of intelligent automation.
But this is just the beginning. Other AI actions such as translations are coming soon, all designed to give developers and content managers unprecedented speed, accuracy, and flexibility.
Availability: Strapi AI is available on the Growth plan through a credit-based system for both simple and complex AI tasks.
Every Growth plan includes 1000 monthly credits by default, with usage-based billing for additional credits.
Strapi AI is also accessible during the 30-day trial, so you can explore AI-powered features before committing.
1. AI-Powered Content Type Builder
After three months in private beta, the Strapi AI Content Type Builder is now Generally Available!
Developers can skip the manual, error-prone work of building schemas and simply describe their needs in plain English (“I need a blog with posts, authors, and categories”) or upload assets, such as Figma files or frontend code.
Strapi AI instantly transforms these inputs into structured content types, allowing developers to build website or application features instead of manually scaffolding content models.
Check out this video of the AI Content Type Builder in action:
Coming soon:
- Enhanced reliability for complex requests
- Conversation history to build on previous interactions
- Expanded asset interpretation across more file types
2. AI-Powered Media Library
The Strapi AI Media Library takes the pain out of media management for content managers by automatically generating alt-text and captions, processing multiple assets at once, and keeping humans in control with easy editing.
No more tedious tagging or external tools. Teams save hours of repetitive work, improve accessibility compliance and SEO by default, and give content managers more time to focus on strategy and storytelling instead of metadata housekeeping.
Developer Experience Improvements
1. OpenAPI Specification Generation
As of v5.20, Strapi automatically generates OpenAPI v3-compliant specifications that eliminate the headache of manual API documentation.

2. Conditional Field Support in Custom Fields
Custom fields now intelligently adapt to user input through conditional logic that shows and hides fields based on other field values.
This improvement enables sophisticated form behaviors without writing custom code, empowering full-stack developers to build intelligent content editing interfaces with complex validation rules that respond dynamically to user choices.
Productivity Features for Content Managers
1. Strapi Live Preview Improvements
Content editors can now edit their content visually directly within Live Preview, eliminating the frustrating cycle of save–publish–check that slows down content creation.
Whether working on mobile, tablet, or desktop views, the preview updates in real-time as you type, giving content managers the visual confidence they need to perfect their work before publication.
This streamlined editing workflow transforms content creation from a guessing game into a precise, visual experience.
2. New Homepage Customization
The new Homepage Customization feature puts the most important information front and center, thereby transforming your Strapi dashboard into a personalized command center.
Whether you are tracking deployment schedules or monitoring content performance, this customizable dashboard gives every user — from developers to content managers — immediate visibility into key metrics and quick access to critical functions.

3. Making Strapi Mobile-Friendly: The First Step
We are excited to share the first step in our journey to make Strapi fully responsive on mobile!
As an initial improvement, we have adapted the navigation bar to provide a smoother, more intuitive experience on smaller screens.
We are just getting started! The team will continue to iterate in the coming months, bringing responsiveness to the Content Manager, Homepage, and other key sections of Strapi.
Stay tuned as we roll out these updates step by step, making Strapi more accessible and user-friendly wherever you are.
Strapi Cloud Updates
1. Project Ownership Transfers
Take control of your projects with self-service ownership transfers directly through the Cloud interface.
This secure process maintains all project integrity and access controls while eliminating support tickets and delays.
2. Downloadable Database Backups
Access your data when you need it most with direct database backup downloads from the Cloud UI.
Perfect for local analysis and debugging, these downloads give you complete data portability without the complexity.
Downloads include database content only (assets are excluded).
3. Usage Limit Alerts
Stay ahead of surprise charges with proactive notifications when you hit 80% of your usage limits across API requests, storage, and email.
These intelligent alerts help teams plan capacity and avoid unexpected overages.
4. Save & Deploy on Settings Change
This new improvement enables Strapi Cloud users to save and trigger deployments directly from the settings page.
This improves the developer workflow by giving users control over when deployments happen, reducing confusion about which changes require redeployments, and aligning Strapi Cloud with practices common in other PaaS platforms.
