Publishing content with a headless CMS gives you flexibility and performance but for editors and marketers, it can be a juggling act. From switching browser tabs to hunting for related content types, the editing experience is not always seamless.
Today, we’re excited to launch a set of updates that make content editing more intuitive, visual, and connected than ever:
- In-context editing with Live Preview
- On-the-fly relation creation
- Responsive fields & components
Let’s take a closer look.
In-context editing with Live Preview
Meet Live Preview. Strapi’s new in-context editing experience!
With Live Preview you can now preview your site while editing, right inside the Strapi admin panel. Edit your content on the left, see your site update on the right. It’s like writing and reviewing in one view. You get instant visual feedback, without ever leaving the Content Manager. No more back-and-forth. Just clear, confident publishing.
Stay fast, flexible, and headless
Strapi’s in-context editing respects your headless architecture. No special frontend templates, no CMS lock-in, just your frontend, your API and your preview environment.
Works with your stack
The Live Preview feature is fully frontend-agnostic. Whether you’re using Next.js, Nuxt, Astro, SvelteKit, or your own custom setup, if it can consume data from Strapi’s Content API, it just works.
How it works
When implemented, the editor appears alongside the preview:
- Open the preview.
- Open and close the editor on the left.
- Make changes.
- Save to instantly update the preview.

Pricing & availability
Preview is free for all Strapi users.
To unlock the Live Preview experience (including side-by-side layout), upgrade to the Growth plan, starting at $15 per user/month, or choose Enterprise for advanced collaboration and support.
This is just the start. We're already exploring features like real-time content updates, field-level editing from the preview, and collaborative workflows. Got ideas? We’d love to hear them.
Create and edit relations on the fly
Adding a related article or creating a new author mid-flow meant stopping what you were doing, navigating to another content type, then finding your way back.
Now, you can create and edit related entries without leaving the current page.
Want to add a new product variant or create a missing category? Just do it right there, in context.
It’s one smooth flow, without the friction.
Responsive fields & components
We’ve heard your feedback: content editing needs to work on more screen sizes.
As a first step, we’re rolling out responsive fields and components. That means key UI elements in the content editor now adapt better to smaller screens.
This isn’t full mobile support yet, but it’s a meaningful first move toward a more accessible admin panel. We aim to make fundamental tasks, like editing and publishing, easier on any device.
A simpler way to fetch content
No more manual API calls or custom wrappers.
The new Client Library gives you an easy, type-safe way to fetch, create, update, and delete Strapi content, right from your JavaScript or TypeScript app. Built for modern frameworks, it supports auth, custom headers, and works seamlessly with REST.
It’s the fastest way to connect your frontend to Strapi.
Try Live Preview today
All of these updates are included in the latest version of Strapi. Live Preview is available now in Strapi 5.12 in both the Growth and Enterprise plan. Update to the latest version of Strapi, and check out the docs to get started with Live Preview.
