Winter is coming to many countries, and so are our product updates ⛄️ This month, we’ve focused on making your Strapi experience smoother and even more comfortable. Keep reading to see what’s new 👇
From now on, managing your content becomes easier and more efficient. In the new Strapi version, you can see the content type relational fields in the list view. This has been a highly awaited feature with more than 300 community members requesting it.
We value your feedback and added it in our roadmap to deliver the features you need. Here’s how the new updates make the user experience better.
The list view will display all the necessary information to give you a complete picture of your data. You will see the value of the field or the number of values depending on the type of relationship. It will be possible to have a preview of the entries once you hover on them in the list view.
You can easily find the records you need by implementing filters by relations or sorting your data. What’s more, you can filter by any field of a relation, even if it’s not displayed in the list view. To sort your data, simply click on the column name.
From now on, you can display in the list view the relational fields that are visible in edit view which allows you to customize your content organisation the way you like it. You can choose what fields should be shown temporarily or permanently and rename the columns to improve navigation.
Updating Strapi to the newest version allows you not only to access the new features but also to use the version which works faster, better and smoother, with bugs and security issues fixed.
To help you keep up with the latest Strapi versions, we will show you information about the Strapi and Node versions that you’re currently using, as well as the Strapi Edition (Community or Enterprise). You will find this data in the “Settings” section of the admin panel, in “Application” sub-section.
You’ll always be up-to-date with the new Strapi versions available as we’ve also added a menu notification reminding you to update Strapi.
Follow the migration guide to update your Strapi project or ask your agency or development team to update Strapi. To help you keep up with the latest updates and learn how the new features work, we’ve organized an Online Meetup on Thursday, January 7th at 06:00 PM CEST.
Our Developer Advocate Daniel did a demo of the Relational Fields feature in the Admin Panel and shared more detail about other Strapi updates. We also had an update from our Product Manager Sam on the upcoming features.
