In February, we launched Releases in version 4.18, a feature that quickly became essential for content managers aiming to streamline their content rollout. Releases provide a centralized way to bundle and organize content updates, facilitating easier collaboration and minimizing the risk of missed updates or errors.
Building on this, we're excited to share something new with you—something we believe will make managing your content easier and more efficient. Say hello to our latest feature included in version 4.21, Scheduling for Releases. Scheduling takes content management to the next level by allowing you to not only bundle but also precisely schedule when each bundle goes live. This update is something many of you have been asking for, and we can't wait for you to try it out.
We know managing content can be tricky, especially with the pressures of deadlines and the need for accuracy. Before, you might have found yourself waiting to hit the publish button at an inconvenient time—maybe even in the middle of the night. Our Scheduling feature is here to change that. It lets you plan and set up your content in advance, which means no more waiting around or worrying about manual errors.
If you're juggling product launches, marketing campaigns, or just the day-to-day flow of content, Scheduling is designed to lighten your workload.
Previously, manually releasing content was the only way, but it was not efficient. Remember the stress of timing everything perfectly? Or the worry that you might forget to publish something important? We do too.
With Scheduling, those days are behind us. Scheduling brings much-needed automation to content deployment, eliminating manual processes and reducing human error. With it, you can:
It’s not just about making your day-to-day easier (though it does a great job at that). It’s about taking your whole content strategy up a notch. You’ll have more time to focus on creating impactful content, and knowing when and how publishing is taken care of. This is a leap forward in managing and deploying content with precision and ease.
We’re not stopping here. We plan to integrate Scheduling with Review Workflows for even finer control over your content. Stay tuned for more updates in the near future.
Scheduling isn’t just a new feature—it’s a new way to approach your content. We’re excited to see how it helps you streamline your work, reduce stress, and make every release count.
We constantly work on making things easier for you, and we've got some great news! We’ve added another new feature to Releases that we think you’re going to love: now you can add to your Release directly from the List View!
Quickly add content items to any release without navigating away from your current workflow. No more clicking around to different sections when you're in the zone and focused on getting things organized. This means less time spent on administrative tasks and more time focusing on creating and refining content.
We're always working to improve Strapi and we appreciate the contributions of all community members. Here are a few enhancements that were made recently:
GraphQL Enhancements: The GraphQL plugin received an important update in v4.22.0, allowing GET queries to be used, which can improve performance and flexibility for developers.
Data Transfer and Upload Enhancements: Both these areas saw multiple improvements, including support for models and content types, private upload providers, and the inclusion of size information for uploaded files, making data handling more robust and transparent.
We appreciate the hard work of every community member who contributes to making Strapi better.
We also fixed a few bugs in the last releases:
Content Management Fixes: Across the versions, there were numerous fixes in content management functionalities, such as correcting issues with internationalization, dynamic zones, and relation handling. These fixes ensure a smoother content management experience, especially when dealing with complex content structures.
Content Releases Stability: Fixes were applied to content releases to address issues related to scheduling, editing, and cache management, thereby enhancing the stability and reliability of content scheduling and releases.
Upload and I18N Plugin Fixes: Significant updates were made to sanitize file names upon upload and to fix locale validation issues, improving security and functionality for internationalization support.
Admin and User Interface Fixes: Adjustments and fixes in the admin interface improved the overall user experience, including better handling of purchase pages, input validation, and UI component behavior.
We’re always here, trying to make things better for you. Thank you for sticking with us and for all your feedback. It’s what helps us grow and improve. Here’s to many more updates and making your experience the best it can be!
